I am a Psychotherapist trained in Person Centred and Psychodynamic theory from The University of Edinburgh. These two modalities, along with meditation therapy, mainly underpin my psychotherapeutic work.

Nutrition

Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy

I am a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist, which means I work with the body to heal the body and I use food as my main tool. This, in stark contrast to a pill for an ill or treating the symptoms and not addressing the underlying cause, is the basis for my practice in nutritional science and medicine.

My belief...

My belief is that the body is completely capable of intuitively knowing what is needed for optimum wellness, yet with modern living and so called societal norms of over processed and packaged foods we have lost this innate ability, and what should be such a natural inclination has become a clouded, confusing and misunderstood thing for most. What this has caused is a society of ill health, with rising levels of systemic inflammation, chronic conditions, early onset disease, and rampant levels of mental health issues.

My aim...

My aim is to bring back bio-individuality based on the functional medicine model, where the entirety of the body and all its functionalities are considered together as an intricate machine and not separate parts. Our body, with its billions of cells, is in constant communication via chemical signals, hormones, neurotransmitters, enzymes and the like. If one aspect is malfunctioning, defunct or deficient, the entirety of the body suffers. And that suffering is expressed through the body in what we call a symptom and a combination of symptoms is what we call disease.

My niche...

My niche in practice lies within mental health and disordered eating. I see clients with ailments ranging from stress, mental exhaustion, depression and anxiety to obesity, emotional eating, binge eating, weight regulation and eating disorders. My clients are of all age ranges from childhood onward.

What’s provided from my service?

I work naturopathically with each individual to compile a plan that is appropriate for their needs and presenting symptoms. At times I use supplements as well as functional testing which can best determine the internal state of the body and therefore the best way forward.

Testing is certainly not mandatory and often not necessary, but an option…

  • Hair mineral analysis (status of vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, antioxidants, toxic metals etc)

  • Hormone profile (hormone specific cancers, fertility, PECOS, PMS, menopause, excess hair etc)

  • Neurotransmitter testing (neurobiological/mood disorders, depression, anxiety, eating disorders etc)

  • Stool analysis (gastrointestinal issues, yeast & bacteria levels, IBS, constipation, acid reflux etc)

  • Adrenal and or thyroid testing (chronic fatigue, lethargy, depression, anxiety, infertility etc)

  • Food intolerance testing (allergies, gastrointestinal issues, depression, anxiety, lethargy etc)

Life Process Transformation

Life Process Transformation (LPT) is a gentle approach to healing and personal growth which guides you towards a simpler way to live. It is a coming back to the self, to the core of who you are and how you are meant to be. It enables you to find a way forward based on what works for you, allowing you to move past patterns, habits, coping mechanisms and crutches that are no longer working.

With the world moving in an ever fast pace...

With the world moving in an ever fast pace, with rising levels of stress and strain, tendencies for issues and illness seem to be increasing. With our mental and physical form often to the point of fatigue, exhaustion, chronic illness or collapse, we forge forward, ignoring the signs the body is giving that something is amiss. Or if acknowledged, our attempts at improvement fail.

All too often we aim to operate out of willpower...

All too often we aim to operate out of willpower, which will ultimately never last, or not last for long. Thus enabling self-sabotaging sequences, self-loathing over loss and failures or cyclical patterns of repeating the same mistakes with lessons unlearned.  LPT is about operating from your will, which is in opposition to operating from willpower.

This programme was developed in Canada over 30 years ago by psychotherapist and educator, Viola Fodor, when such processes were not so mainstream as today.

It is an open and authentic approach that allows you to take responsibility in a deep and meaningful way, with its’ roots in philosophy, psychotherapy and meditation.

Appointments

Appointments

Appointments

Begin by making an appointment. Or by being in touch to see if my services are a good fit for you.

Psychotherapy…

Individual or couples counselling can be booked. Each appointment is 1 hour in length and follow-up appointments tend to be booked weekly, fortnightly or as required based on your support needs.

Nutrition initial appointment…

Initial nutrition appointment will be a 1 hour and 20 minute in-depth one-on- one private consultation to review your case history form and three day food diary (both completed by you before you come). During the consultation we will review your personal, medical and familial history and discuss your mental, emotional and overall wellbeing. Within four days of the appointment you will be emailed a personalised protocol based on your own bio-individuality, and a way forward that fits for you.

Nutrition follow-ups...

Follow-up nutrition consultations are 50 minutes in length. These are supportive sessions where we review your presenting symptoms and where you are at at that particular time. There is no judgment or pressure. We will simply work with where you are at in the moment but with a clear picture of where you could progress to in future.

Life Process Transformation…

Each appointment is 1 hour and 20 minutes. This is a once weekly commitment (lasting from 4 - 6 months), or fortnightly commitment (lasting 8-12 months) where I walk you through your Life Process Transformation journey and personal Life Process Transformation workbook.
